In this episode of The False Claims Act Insider, Tony interviews Shahroo Yazdani. Shahroo is a new member of the Price Benowitz team. Shahroos focus is dealing with cases involving the Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC). OFAC is an organization within the US Department of Treasury. OFAC enforces economic and trade sanctions that are based on the United States foreign policy. These sanctions are administered following the United States national security objectives against selected countries, terrorists, traffickers, etc. Tony and Shahroo discuss the future of OFAC and how this can impact individuals. The two believe OFAC will become more relevant in peoples lives as OFAC will transition into sanctioning individual people rather than whole countries. The duo also dive into the regulations, dynamics, and the ways OFAC will affect businesses.
