Chad is a graduate of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar, the Greenville County Bar, the Greenville Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, and the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys.
Having been raised in the Upstate of South Carolina, Chad is proud to have called Greenville home for the majority of his life. After graduating from Greenville High School, Chad attended Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in political science and history. Chad then attended The Charleston School of Law and graduated Cum Laude with Honors. While in law school, Chad competed in Moot Court, was a member of the Federal Courts Law Review, and was an articles editor for MALABU, the Maritime Law Bulletin. During law school, Chad received CALI awards, given to the student who achieves the highest grade in their class, in Legal Writing and Research, Historic Preservation Law, and Criminal Law.
While in law school, worked with the South Carolina Commission on Indigent Defense in the Division of Capital Defenders. This division of lawyers focuses solely on advocating for and defending those people facing the potential of the death penalty. The time spent in this role is what sparked Chad’s desire to focus his career in criminal defense. After graduating from law school, Chad joined the 13th Circuit Public Defender’s Office as an Assistant Public Defender in the Greenville Office where he continued to work until ultimately being promoted to Deputy Public Defender of the Pickens County Public Defender’s Office.
When he is not working, Chad can be found spending time with his wife and two young children, enjoying the outdoors, attempting to master the intricacies of cooking good barbeque, or passionately rooting for the Atlanta Braves.
