Experience & Background

Andrew is from Rome, Georgia, and earned his law degree from Vanderbilt Law School. His early career included clerking for a superior court judge and working with a public defender’s office, where he “cut his teeth on criminal law” and gained extensive experience in matters ranging from misdemeanors to serious felony cases. This background allowed him to see firsthand the challenges individuals face when navigating the justice system, shaping his commitment to accessible, high-quality defense work.

Before focusing his practice on criminal defense, Andrew also gained experience working in Washington, D.C., where he deepened his understanding of policy and public service. Coming from a family of educators, Andrew remains involved in community-focused legal education programs, helping introduce high school and early college students to the foundations of the law.

Outside of his legal work, Andrew enjoys playing guitar, renovating his home, and spending time with his two dogs and cat.

Sam Dhawan had the privilege of serving as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Judith C. Ensor in the Circuit Court for Baltimore County, Maryland. This experience provided him with invaluable insight into how judges think and respond to arguments, shaping his approach to advocacy and trial preparation. Combined with his significant trial experience across a variety of matters, Sam has developed into a confident and effective litigator.

A graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law, Sam is admitted to practice in Maryland. He is fluent in Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi, and also conversational in Spanish. Outside of his practice, Sam enjoys sports, especially cheering for the Washington Commanders, and spends his free time on the golf course.
