Nicolas Torres

Nicolas Torres has spent his entire career defending individuals from high-stakes prosecutions in both State and Federal Courts across Florida. A zealous and dynamic advocate, Nicolas approaches each individual case differently based on the needs and priorities of his clients.

Hailing from Colombia, Nicolas is fluent in Spanish and adept at navigating cross-cultural aspects present in certain legal matters, as well as providing more effective communication with native Spanish speakers. Navigating the criminal justice system is a difficult task already, having to do so through an interpreter or in your second language only complicates matters further.

Experience & Background

Nicolas obtained his B.A. from the University of Florida and his J.D. from Emory University School of Law. During his tenure at law school, he honed his skills as a Student Attorney at the Barton Juvenile Defense Clinic, championing the rights of juveniles in criminal proceedings. Following graduation, Nicolas served as a Public Defender for three years, gaining invaluable experience in a wide array of cases ranging from DUIs to Sex Crimes and Life Felonies. Subsequently, he established a successful private practice within a prestigious criminal defense boutique firm in South Florida before joining Price Benowitz as a Partner.

Beyond the courtroom, Nicolas is an avid PADI-certified diver, drawn to the allure of Florida’s aquatic wonders. He also finds enjoyment in soccer, MMA, podcasts, and cheering on the Florida Gators.
