Experience & Background

Nicholas’ passion for criminal defense began as an intern in the Public Defender’s Office for the City of Richmond. He spent two years as an intern while attending law school, one year as an investigator, and three and half years as an Attorney earning the title of Supervising Assistant Public Defender. During his time there he appeared in front of both judges and juries finding success on both fronts. He not only tried cases, but drafted and filed briefs, argued motions, negotiated favorable pleas for alternative sentencing, and supervised less experienced attorneys providing guidance and instruction.

Nicholas graduated Cum Laude from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, North Carolina where he majored in Political Science. He received his Juris Doctor from the University Of Richmond School Of Law. As a law student, he served as President of the Black Law Student Association and was a member of both the Trial Advocacy and Client Counseling/Negotiations Boards. Nicholas is licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia and has experience with both Felony and Juvenile cases. His practice is focused in Henrico, Hanover, Chesterfield, Colonial Heights, Richmond, and the surrounding counties. He is a father of two.
