Education
While attending law school, Jason was elected to the Powhatan County School Board. On the board, Jason’s peers elected him Vice Chairman of the board on three occasions. For his work on the School Board, Governor James Gilmore presented Jason with the Patrick Henry Award for Good Governance.
After almost twelve years on the School Board, Jason was elected to the Powhatan Board of Supervisors. As a Supervisor, Jason served on several regional boards including Piedmont Court Services. PCS is a multi-jurisdictional agency dedicated to enhancing public safety, reducing crime, reinforcing offender accountability, promoting lawful and productive lifestyles among offenders. It also assists the Courts in managing offenders by utilizing evidence-based practices and principles and establishing collaborative community partnerships in order to promote offender self-efficacy and to reduce recidivism.

Experience & Previous Cases
Jason has been a member of the 10th Circuit BarAssociation, the Powhatan Bar Association and the FarmVille Bar Association. Jason was elected President of the Powhatan Bar five times. During that time the bar conducted – So Your 18 Classes – for local high schools to discuss with high school seniors how turning 18 will affect their lives. The bar also supported the local YMCA back to school backpack program helping needy children purchase clothes and supplies for school.
Jason is an avid history lover being a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, The Civil War Roundtable and Virginia Historical Society. He does genealogy research. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and three children when not working. He coached flag football (5,6, and 7 year olds) for the Cumberland Youth League with the team making it to the playoffs in his second year.
